launch of the 1st edition of the “France Excellence IFA -Doctorate” scholarship program on the theme of “High Technologies”. In this context, the French Institute of Algeria awards, for the academic year 2024-2025, five (05) scholarships to students residing in Algeria, enrolled in thesis for less than two years in an Algerian university and wishing to progress towards a joint supervision with a French university
The priority themes selected are as follows:
Digital sciences, quantum, artificial intelligence
Environmental sciences, sustainable development, energy, circular economy, Transport, low-carbon mobility
Exploration of the seabed and space, aeronautics
Biotechnologies, health, food, Information and communication technologies.
This call for applications concerns:
Students currently enrolled in Algeria for less than 2 years in doctoral studies related to high technologies, and wishing to progress towards joint supervision with a French university
People who do not have French nationality (single or double)
This scholarship cannot be combined with another scholarship or allowance.
Students receiving funding as part of a PHC Tassili+ project are not eligible
The evaluation of applications will be carried out by an external jury composed of representatives from the academic and socio-economic world.
Benefits of the France Excellence IFA Scholarship – Doctorate
In addition to the advantages usually linked to joint thesis supervision (diploma recognized by both countries, registration in the two Algerian and French universities, access to university libraries and restaurants, etc.), the winners will benefit from:
Free visa fees
Exemption from registration fees in public establishments under MESR supervision and from the Student and Campus Life Contribution (CVEC)
Coverage of their return travel costs between Algeria and France
Health and civil liability insurance coverage during their stay in France
An allowance of €1,690 net per month to which is added direct payment for several services (insurance, finding accommodation, cultural activities, etc.).

We advise candidates to read the call for applications carefully to prepare all the documents in their file and then to submit a complete file via the online form.
The application file must include the following documents
-A CV of 2 pages maximum specifying the ranking in the doctoral competition
-Baccalaureate and Master 2 transcripts
-The thesis project presentation file (to download) duly completed
-A letter of support from the thesis director in Algeria
-A letter from the director of the French laboratory where the thesis is attached, attesting to the possibility of welcoming the candidate under joint thesis supervision in his laboratory.
Please note that incomplete files will be declared inadmissible.
Application Timeline
March 10, 2024: applications open
April 20, 2024: applications close
End of May: notification of results
September/October 2024: arrival of the winners in France and start of their training
